The Short Circuits is a team from City Charter High School. We compete in the FIRST robotics competition, a competition that challenges high school students from all over the world to create a fully functional robot in 6 weeks.
17/03 : Hurrah

Congratulations Alliance # 1 of the Pittsburgh Regional, Team 1743, 222, and 1218 are all going to the Atlanta National Competition. Team 222, the Tigertrons, and Team 1218, Vulcan Robotics, worked well together all with great scoring mechanisms and 1743 playing great defense as well as having a phenomenal human player nicknamed the Rain Man with his own crowd cheer "Let's go Joe!" The Pittsburgh Regional competition last Saturday was really a sight to see. With the experienced insight of 222 and the amazingly quick moon rock throwing device on 1218's robot Taz, this alliance could very well be giving the other teams from around the country a good run for their money. See you all in Atlanta

03/03 : A quick review

We've been working a bit on the website among other important things; we haven't been able to keep up with this as much as we would have liked, so we apologize to anyone who is inconvenienced by our lack of updates, and to those who are annoyed by our use of the old theme. I tried to set a new theme but am having some issues with that. As soon as I figure that out though it shall be done.
In other news...
The Pittsburgh Regional Competition is in a week, so i would like to take a moment to stop and look back a bit:
The 2009 build season was a success it seems. We got our robot ready and shipped on time.
A few of us watched the other Competitions that have already taken place, specifically in Cleveland, and our verdict has been: Team 1743 could very well "kick butt" this year.
With 14 team members, we pulled everything together quite nicely. The only major differences in halving our team this year is that the whole old organization system didn't hold too well, and we didn't have anyone set aside to work on the website.
Otherwise, no complaints here.
Not sure really what else to say, so I guess I'll see you all in Pittsburgh next week.
Good Luck!
